As the business development director for Border Cars / BC Motorhomes, my primary role is to develop key areas of growth in the business, drive change, identify new opportunities, inspect cost reduction and improve profitability and efficiencies.In addition to the above, I maintain close relationships with our franchise partners and existing / new suppliers.

• Operational duties:
• Full P & L and operational responsibility for BC Motorhomes (part of Border Cars Group Ltd)
• Ensuring groups financial targets and other agreed targets are met in all departments.
• Ensuring that every branch achieves profit margins within their objectives/annual budget.
• Continually monitor the financial situation by implementing and reporting on a Daily Operating control, examining daily and weekly.
• Review accounts, operating controls, dealer composite figures and franchise/industry KPI's, taking corrective measures and actions as deemed necessary.

Ayr

Border Cars Group purchased a site in Ayr (December 2011) with a view to extend its franchise portfolio in the Ayrshire area. As this facility was a three acre site in a key location this gave me the opportunity to diversify into the motorhome, caravan and leisure sector. This strategy was further enhanced by selecting key franchise partners that assisted.

Ayr & Stranraer

Full responsibility for running the Ayr and Stanraer business for Border Cars. Currently housing Mazda, Mitsibushi and Ford franchises as well a Motorhome facility carrying over 50 units

Border Cars operates and are franchise partners with Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Mazda, Fiat, Kia, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi over multiple locations in South West Scotland and Cumbria.

Ayr

Overall responsibility for the running of a full Mazda dealer.

Bickets Motor Group bought over in January 2008. Ran the multi site Kilmarnock Operation as part of the Verve group housing 7 franchises.

Running a multi site operation whiched housed Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Fiat, Mazda and SEAT franchises turning over £18 million and selling 2000 units per year. Opened one of the first Volvo Approved repairers UK in 2003. Operated to 2 busy aftersales departments including the groups Bodyshop.

Full responsibility for performance,profitability and management of site housing Chrysler Jeep and SEAT franchises

Running a busy Aftersales department streching the workshop capacity and achieving high csi scores.

Overseeing all aftersales Activities for a motor dealership
