Experienced Instrument Technician working in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry. Currently my role is Instrument Technician working on Beryl Alpha.My journey into the industry was through ECITB/OPITO OGTAP (Oil & Gas Technical Apprenticeship Program) where I was employed by Petrofac. Once I had obtained all of my qualifications at College, I was deployed offshore on the Ninian Central Platform. I remained on Ninian Central moving via TUPE to TORUS BGP when they took over the O&M contract from Petrofac. It was during the transition I was made up to Senior Instrument Technician.Following the announcement by CNRI, to begin COP of the assets in the Ninian Oil Field. I decided to move on, and now work for Oil Company Apache Corporation on the Beryl Alpha Platform.I have experience covering additional roles including;- Instrument Team Leader.- Fire & Gas.- Metering.- HVACRoles & Responsibilities:- Mechanical Isolator.- LV Electrical Isolator.- Maintenance of ESD Systems such as Delta-V SIS, GP Elliot, Cyfas Restbury, ROTORK ESD.- Maintenance of Process Control Systems such as Delta-V, Open Enterprise. - Fault Finding and repairs on a range of Pneumatic, Electrical, Hydraulic and Nucleonic systems.- Commissioning new equipment as part of projects for both the Platform Operator and Third Party Operators.- Completion of a range of maintenance tasks including planned work on Safety Critical Equipment.- Decommissioning a range of redundant equipment.- Working with Vendors for a variety of work scopes.- Use of the Maintenance Management System (IBM Maximo & SAP), for planning and logging work.- Oracle Unifier for planning Campaign Maintenance work scopes.- Planning and preparation of TAR for Maintenance and Projects.- Use or Permit to Work Systems (Sphera/ISSOW).- Authorised Gas Tester.Certificates/Qualifications:- Current BOSIET (FOET), MIST and Offshore Medical certificates.- CompEx Certified (Ex01-04).- IRATA Rope Access Level 1.- ERT Role - Coxswain (Twin Fall & Single Fall Lifeboats).- TSBT 01.- TSBT 02.- MJI 10.- Level 3 Authorised Gas Tester.Education:- ECITB Offshore Instrument Technician Apprenticeship (Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship).- HNC in Measurement and Control Engineering (Grade - A).- SVQ Level 3 (SCQF Level 7) Engineering Maintenance: Instrument and Controls.
