This is a $134 million CM/GC project to construct a 3.3 mile modern streetcar system. The alignment runs along Woodward Avenue (M-1), which is the main street through the center of Detroit. It connects downtown to Campus Martius, Entertainment/Sports District, Midtown, Wayne State University, the museum district, and New Center. The project includes ~2.5 miles of full width roadway reconstruction and the complete replacement of the two bridges over I-75 and I-94. It also includes 19 station platforms, four traction power substations, train signal and communication systems, traffic signals, street lighting, systems infrastructure, and public and private utility re-locations. I was responsible for the $16.5 million contract with Detroit Edison Electric Company, managing all subcontracts and self-perform work under this contract, along with coordinating weekly meetings with the agency and subcontractors. The key subcontractor, Rauhorn Electric and they are installing the new mainline duct-bank. I was also involved in directing storm and water re-locations, as well as all temporary work needed to execute the work.

This was a $1 million contract for pre-construction services for a 2.6-mile light rail extension comprised of both ballasted and direct fixation track with over one mile of aerial structures, three stations (one existing with modification, one signature, and one end of line station), and two park and rides. I was responsible for coordinating the construct-ability reviews with all third party utilities affected by the project. I presided over weekly meetings with designers and utility companies to deliver cost-effective design and construction documents.

This was a $181 million design-build project to construct a 13.1 mile toll road. The project features 19 bridges, 3.2 million cubic yards of excavation, 181,000 CY of concrete pavement, drainage culverts and piping, 115 acres of R.O.W. acquisition, utility re-locations, illumination, and toll way infrastructure. I was responsible for performing the daily quality control responsibilities to ensure the project was constructed in accordance with the established standards, which included oversight and review of documentation and physical inspection phase of the work flow process and working with other in-house and external personnel to produce and document a quality product. I created, updated and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports, reviewed shop drawings and submittal for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by levering the knowledge and experience of others in the project team. Also, conducted and documented concrete and lime treated sub-grade testing for conformance with the specifications.

This is a $1.2 billion design-build project to construct 15 miles of light rail, and includes the construction of two new maintenance facilities and the expansion of an existing facility. The project also includes 25 new stations, 37 platforms, and nine bridges, and 74,000 sf of walls. I joined the project team as an intern and quickly gained responsibilities as an Office/Field Engineer. In that role, I reviewed assigned cost codes, daily time-cards, payment applications, SWPPP inspections/maintenance reports, weekly budget quantities, weekly/monthly review, and weekly schedule quantities. I was promoted to Grading Manager where I assisted with site supervision, managed subcontractors in underground installation of private and public utilities, developed work plans and schedules, and managed roadway work along the Southeast Line.

Summer intern for office and field engineering
