Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working directly for the Senior Director of Supply Chain; producing work orders for the manufacturing of new corrective vision lenses, as well as enter data into the MRP system that control the movement of new and existing products being manufactured and/or repackaged for distribution. Also, set up new product lines, as well as update current products to fit new specifications, and update all critical information to the FDA and other appropriate overseeing entities, to ensure the safety of our product for the consumer. Create purchase orders, using the company’s custom MRP system, for goods used in the manufacturing of lenses. Assist the Buyer in purchasing products, specify charges using GL codes for the specific ordering department, and obtain quotes on a regular basis. Communicate with vendors, on behalf of the planners and materials manager, to order, confirm and expedite shipping, delivery, and or return of goods. Assist in inventory management, working closely with the receiving department to ensure delivery of materials used to manufacture the lenses and lens injectors. Also complete various tasks assigned by the Senior Director of Supply Chain.
