I am a Day Sort Supervisor at UPS, where I have been provided the opportunity to learn how to manage five different departments ranging from outbound operations to training new employees to air shipment operations and share that knowledge with those who have followed behind me. Since joining UPS in 2018, I have been recognized for my ability to quickly adapt to new positions and situations, and to provide extra assistance to any of those departments during times they are in need of the extra hand. I have also developed core competencies in resiliency, adaptive learning, and agility, which are essential for the fast-paced and dynamic environment of UPS.Before UPS, I sold door-to-door security in 17 states around the country for two years, living on the road and traveling between destinations. This experience enhanced my confidence, self-awareness, communication, and persuasion skills. It became clear to me a major change needed to be made to continue my pursuit of success paired with an optimistic outlook for what may exist beyond the horizon. I moved to Utah from Southern California at the end of 2018 with one of my goals being to pursue my education in business administration and management. Over the years, I have attended courses at Strayer University, Orange Coast College, Salt Lake Community College, and Colorado Technical University where I recently acquired my Associate of Science in Management degree. I continue to be motivated by the opportunity to learn new skills, overcome challenges, and contribute to the success of UPS and to evolve the skills of my coworkers that will help bring their best work to life.
