As a Lieutenant at Smith County ESD2, I lead and supervise an Engine Company that responds to emergency incidents to provide fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services. I operate and maintain the fire apparatus, equipment, and tools, and ensure the safety and readiness of my crew. I also coordinate with other agencies and departments, such as the county dispatch center, the sheriff's office, and local EMS during incidents to provide effective and efficient emergency response for the citizens of Smith County, Texas.I have a demonstrated history of working in the public safety industry, with 9 years of experience as a firefighter and EMT in both a volunteer and professional capacity. I have obtained multiple certifications from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and the Texas Department of State Health Services, including Intermediate Structural Firefighter, Fire Officer 2, and Emergency Medical Technician, Basic. I have also developed skills and expertise in technical rescue, hazardous materials, fire safety, and wildland firefighting. I am currently pursuing an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Fire Science at Tyler Junior College. My goal is to further my education and career in the fire service, and to serve and protect the lives and property of Smith County residents.
