Diverse is the best word to describe my career. Starting as a precision Fitter/Machinist/Toolmaker, I devoted my hands to Maintenance of production machines and plant.Design of machines and machine tools for production of sheet metal products through to heavy fabricated equipment including mining, agricultural, civil and transport with a bit of commercial structural for added excitement. Throw in ISO9001.x pre certification documentation creation as a fill in admin task just to keep busy.My two greatest design projects are inventing and executing oil/gas drilling mobile support equipment and helilift accommodation for PNG. Both of these saw me estimate, design, project manage and gain respective certification within tight deadlines and both were held in high regard by the client and also copied by others.My timeline shown here does not convey the broad projects and experience I have grown with. I switch between employment and contracting as the need requires.As my interests and experiences are many and varied, I never tire of learning new things. It is for this reason I still have my photographic business operating after more than 20 years as it gives me the opportunity to express myself and divert my mind to non-engineering business practices and technologies.
