Cameron's addition to JLL's Public Sector Valuations team significantly bolstered our financial advisory capability. With expertise in strategic asset management planning and technical accounting advisory, Cameron played a pivotal role in elevating our delivery of financial reporting requirements.His notable contributions include:1) Developing a Strategic Asset Management Plan for ACT Policing, crucial for modelling replacement costs and facilitating infrastructure asset renewal across the ACT.2) Project managing portfolio Asset Revaluations for key clients such as the Director of National Parks, the Department of Parliamentary Services, and the ACT Health Directorate.3) Providing Technical Accounting Advice to numerous Government departments on lease accounting, asset impairment, and tender pricing evaluations.4) Reviewing asset valuation and impairment models for the Department of Defence.5) Successfully responding to competitive panel tenders, including the Management Advisory Services Panel overseen by the Department of Finance.6) Providing quality assurance across a range of financial reporting and valuation reports.Cameron has collaborated closely with the JLL leadership team, enhancing strategic planning and operational excellence to drive ongoing success within Public Sector Valuations.

Cameron was an Executive Director within Synergy's CFO Advisory practice. As capability lead for CFO Advisory, Cameron led a strong team of financial management consultants, growing the team from 19 to 40+ staff over 2 1/2 years, with strong staff engagement and low staff turnover. He was responsible for recruitment, resource management, business development, technical oversight, bid management, professional development and performance coaching for the CFO team.Cameron has a strong background in Australian Government Financial Management, working alongside Chief Finance Officers and Finance teams. He provides client management, project management, direction, oversight and quality assurance for outputs delivered on client projects. Cameron particularly enjoys financial reporting, process improvement, asset management and capital planning/forecasting. He has recently provided consulting services to large Australian Government agencies including the Department of Defence, Department of Finance, Department of Parliamentary Services, Department of Health, Department of Home Affairs and the National Indigenous Australians Agency.

• Developed an Asset Management Framework linking AAIs to a suite of asset policies, including Software Capitalisation, PP&E Assets, Impairment and Re-life, IT Asset Management, Stocktake, Roles & Responsibilities and Grouping & Componentisation, developed in line with AASBs, FMOs and ANAO better practice.• Developed procedural guidance, including a capitalisation manual for project managers, stocktaking procedures and impairment testing instructions.• Undertook a Strategic Balance Sheet Review to establish a comprehensive asset impairment and re-life testing process, remediate a number of prior year accounting errors and resolve balance sheet issues.• Coordinated the annual impairment and re-life testing process, including consultation with project managers and asset owners where indicators of impairment were present. Undertook detailed impairment assessments of intangible assets and other assets under construction.• Drafted numerous Minute papers on behalf of the CFO to the Executive, summarising high profile accounting issues such as remediation of ANAO audit findings, major asset impairments, lease accounting treatments, revisions to asset thresholds, asset process improvements and the capital investment budget process.• Responded to ad hoc requests from CFO, DCFO and business areas regarding the capitalisation of complex assets.• Coordinated the asset revaluation process for an agency, including preparing the asset register, developing a risk and issues log, drafting procurement documents, meeting with the preferred tenderer, liaising with the valuer regularly to discuss valuations for specialised assets, reconciliations and updating the FMIS.• Managed asset under construction (AUC) balances and established quality assurance processes to proactively monitor capitalisation of employee labour costs and supplier expenses.• Prepared and delivered capitalisation training to six business divisions prior to the submission of capital investment proposals.
