One of three Front Office members charged with running the Gazette, Western University, Canada's daily student newspaper. Publishing from Monday to Thursday, I created the layout of pages, helped gather content and ensured all sections of the paper had their portion done to a deadline. Whenever they needed help, it was up to me to provide it. I also ran meetings and story-searches. When not managing staff, I researched and wrote columns and articles␣this, of course, involved doing interviews, and using social media to attract sources as well as readers. As Managing Editor, I also started gazetteRadio, a weekly podcast summing up the week's top stories. This program provides a way for editors to practice a different form of journalism, as well as offering an alternate way to get our content to our readers/listeners. Show less
