I had a varied team of designers, illustrators, photographers and videographers within my department and it was great to have so many skills at my disposal.The main roles with this job were steering the creative vision and ensuring that any of the work being produced matched my expectations and ideas with their execution. Aside from this was the day to day work of design, which I still had a large hand in as well as the more general duties of managing workflows, studio time and the people within my departments.Most of the challenge from this role came from the budgetary time allocations from the clients themselves, therefore time management and smooth workflow was a key focus.I took the view then, as I do now that creative teams don't respond well to being under pressure for long periods of time and that people management is more about good leadership and common sense than checklist policies.
