GOTAFE is the largest vocational education provider in regional Victoria offering over 130courses across eight campuses, servicing an estimated population of over 240,000people. GOTAFE operates on the land of many traditional custodians including the YortaYorta and Taungurung people. GOTAFE provides education to over 9,000 students per year and employs over 500 staff and is deeply connected to our local communities. I was a member of the Executive team, reporting to a board and was and accountable for the delivery against our strategic plan to foster excellence in vocational education, optimise the experience of students and customers, develop meaningful partnerships with government, industry and other stakeholders and strategically diversify and maximise revenue.I lead the Attraction and Engagement division with a budget of $7.8M and 100 FTE staff. We delivered the institute's events, marketing and communications services, enrolments and attraction, student support and wrap-around services including counselling, equitable and learning support, stakeholder and government engagement, industry and university partnerships and business development.

LGPro is the member association and leading voice for people working in Local Government in Victoria. The Board oversees a budget of $2.4M and organisation that employs 9 staff.In 2017 I was elected onto the board by the membership on a platform of creating career advancement opportunities for young professionals with the goal of keeping more younger professionals in our exciting sector as well advancing the organisations diversity and inclusion work.

Ballarat, Australia

Ballarat is the second largest regional city in Victoria and has a population of 105,000+ people. The Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung people are the traditional owners of the land and Ballarat is considered the birthplace of Australian democracy. The rebellious Eureka spirit runs deeply in the community and organisation, creating an environment for innovation and continuous improvement and change. The Executive Leadership Team, of which I was a member, reported to the Council of nine elected representatives, delivered an annual expenditure of $277M and provided over 80 services. In 2019/20 we delivered over 120 capital projects. 1100 staff and volunteers translated our strategic vision into operations by working together to make Ballarat better for all. I led the Innovation and Organisational Improvement division with its budget of $6.3M and 43 FTE staff. Delivering results in the organisation’s advocacy and lobbying agenda, corporate reporting requirements, people and culture services, business improvement and innovation activities, communications and marketing and civic functions including the Office of the Mayor and CEO and the historic Ballarat Town Hall.

Ballarat, Australia

Yarra is an inner-city Council principally responsible for the suburbs of Richmond, Collingwood, Fitzroy and nine other localities and has a population of 98,000+ people. The Wurundjeri people are the traditional owners of the land and Yarra is a progressive, diverse community, home to some of Melbourne’s most affluent and most disadvantaged communities. The Digital and Brand Team was made up of 5.6 FTE and worked within a $1.7M budget and was accountable for the areas of brand management, design, publications, digital communications, marketing and transformation including social media, website, online platforms and campaigns.

Richmond

Responsible for the implementation of the Internal Communications Strategy. Provided leadership, advice and innovative solutions to the Executive, CEO and other staff on all internal communications matters and work closely with the Corporate Communications team to realise synergies between internal and external communications.

Warragul

Baw Baw is a peri-urban Council in West Gippsland and has a population of 48,500+ people. The Kurnai people are the traditional owners of the land and Baw Baw is a growing municipality balancing the needs of the ever-changing and growing community and the demand on crucial community assets. Whilst managing Recreation and Healthy Communities I had overall leadership, project management and supervision of the Healthy Communities Initiative (2.4 FTE and $700K budget) as well as the leadership and management of the sport and recreation team (4 FTE and $3.9M budget) from December 2013 to June 2014.

Warragul

Responsible for developing a coordinated approach to the delivering of the objectives of Baw Baw Shire Council’s Healthy Communities Initiative including addressing the rising prevelance of lifestyle related chronic disease by laying the foundations for healthy behaviours in the daily lives of the residents of Baw Baw
