Midnight Aurora is the name behind the freelance work I do in collaboration with a other freelance designers, developers and project managers. Currently under the Midnight name, we are actively developing a fitness app, a dating app and a city community app. Aside from those projects we're taking on any projects that get us excited and we see value in.

Claire was an offshoot of a wildly successful covid app called Bella Health that produced funding to start a health company that focused on making blood testing in a lab or having a phlebotomist come to your home as easy as ordering lunch on DoorDash. My role was to lead the design of the app, working with a team of designers that I was able to guide and work alongside of to create something that would be easy to use, but also look nothing like the cold and stale apps people have come to accept when it comes to their health. We created together something pretty special that we poured a lot of love into that would put the user at ease and let them know they will be well taken care of as well as see results they can actually read and understand. I was proud to play a role in cultivating a collaborative creative team and fight for my team's success as well as internal health on the path to success. I loved working with this group of talented designers and coordinating the many UX projects that made up Claire.

The company I was at previously, Conversable, was bought by LivePerson for the work we were doing in the Conversational AI space. I came into this larger team and quickly got poached for another team where I was given the role of Principal Designer and was able to really flex my skills and love for being a lead designer on a team of 20+ designers. I led our weekly team syncs as well as created our team values and processes along with another principal designer who I quickly realized wanted to create the same collaborative culture I did.When it came to the product design, I focused on building a product suite of 20+ products that worked together to help create a cohesive and dynamic conversational experience with a handoff between bot and human. I spent a lot of time researching and traveling around the world doing user testing at the biggest brands where I got to sit with agents in their customer service pods. Then take back the findings to the team to make agents and bots work better for people wanting a quick answer and solution with their favorite brands.

I was brought in as the sole designer at Conversable after working with the CEO years earlier at Chaotic Moon Studios. We created an AI bot product that allowed someone to easily create a customer service conversation without the need to code. The success of this team's work led to an acquisition by LivePerson after only a couple years or so and allowed for me to continue the work I had done at Conversable and bring it into a larger more established product suite used around the world.

Coming into Umbel, I came into the product team with the challenging task of taking a product that had not been updated in 4 years and really rethink how we can get the users to understand their audience's data and how to take action on it. From months wrestling through the best ways to do this on a whiteboard, through wireframes, internal discussions and external testing, we landing in a place we never thought we would be, to the excitement and enthusiasm of clients such as ACL, SXSW and YMCA.

As a UI Designer at Chaotic Moon, I worked with a talented team of designers to create products that people use and love. I was the lead designer on a lot of the entertainment apps including FoxNow, FXNow and American Idol as well as large enterprises like Dell. Jumping on a project from an initial call all the way through the architecture and design of the app onto the updates, I was given great control and freedom to really take projects to well beyond the original vision and deliver something the whole team could get behind.

As a UI designer at BestFit, I worked on multiple mobile apps with great clients such as Michael's, Movember and ESPN. With a small team we were able to make big waves in the industry and put BestFit on the map.

In the early days of my career, fresh out of college, I worked in numerous affiliated churches doing marketing and design. While not religious myself today and I wouldn't affiliate myself with the church in any way, it gave me the opportunity to grow and learn what I wanted in my career and gave me a place to find out what kind of designer I wanted to be.
