After graduating from high school, I was honored to receive an academic scholarship to study Criminal Justice at Maryville College. During my four years at the College, I received unparalleled instruction and guidance in the areas of Criminal Justice, Forensics, Law, Business Administration and Psychology. In order to achieve my career goals, I am looking to gain specialized experience including examining crime scenes, conducting investigations and collecting evidence to use during court proceedings. I have acquired excellent communication skills that include active listening, public speaking and negotiation skills. Other skills useful in this field include awareness, critical thinking and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to make good sound decisions and judgment calls.I always follow the highest ethical standards possible and make it a priority to treat others with the respect they deserve. It is my desire to move into a federal investigative position eventually, but I understand that I must gain considerable on-the-job training within the industry while continuing my education. Luckily I was given the opportunity to intern at the Blount County Sheriff's Department during my senior year at Maryville College.
