First impressions have a lasting impact, so being extremely polite and welcoming to all guests upon arrival affects me, the venue, and Southern Valet. My duties in this position went beyond greeting guests and parking cars. If there was something beyond that I could do for any guests I tried my best to do it. This included alerting the hotel desk of guests ready to check in, walking valet and non-valet guests with an umbrella through the rain, and retrieving items that were accidentally left in vehicles. Sometimes a large influx of cars could have the potential to spoil the evening for many people. In these situations it took a lot of coordination, organization, and effort among the valets to keep cars moving and get guests to their destinations smoothly. Show less
