Carlos Ameixieira, Platform Lead at Veniam, has been linked to the company since day one. Carlos has been leading the platform group, being responsible for having a stable and reliable embedded system, which is the core of Veniam’s products, used in the world wide deployments, such as Porto, the world largest vehicular network, and Singapore.Carlos has been working on vehicular networks since his master thesis, where he received his MSc in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro in 2011. Starting during his thesis, Carlos was a research grant holder at the Institute of Telecommunications of Aveiro, working in the DRIVE-IN project, supported by the CMU Portugal program. Carlos played a key role in the project, enabling/implementing successfully the system that made the vehicular networks communications possible, while compliant with IEEE international standards. Carlos participation on the DRIVE-IN project ended when he accepted Veniam’s invitation for its first engineering team, in 2012.
