Former utility interconnection substation engineer turned High Voltage development engineer for IPP. I work for AES in the Clean Energy Department, working on interconnecting clean energy projects in the US. My tasks include project management, substation design, transmission design, review of utility reports and contracts and assisting in the evaluation of project feasibility. I also work with our strategic and transmission planning groups on our future pipeline and focus primarily on West coast ISO/RTOs. My interest and hobbies consist of topics that will allow me to combine my love for reaching a more green future, designing power efficient circuits, and interfacing sensors from the body or robotics. My dominant personality traits like my leadership, ability to assess a situation into small achievable steps, time management, and ability to not get discouraged or give up, allow me to be successful at any task or overcome any obstacle. I have my professional engineering license (PE in electrical engineering), a master's in engineering from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a double major in Electrical Engineering and Digital Technology and Networks and held a 3.0+ GPA University of California, Santa Cruz(UCSC) in 2016. I was a NCAA qualifier for swimming and team captain for two years.

High Voltage Development Engineering ManagerThe Aes Corporation Mar 2023 - PresentArlington, Virginia, UsManager of the High Voltage development engineering group for the West coast. Includes de-risking of all substation and gen-tie related items for all green field, brown field and M&A projects. -
Senior High Voltage Development EngineerThe Aes Corporation Mar 2022 - PresentArlington, Virginia, UsBe part of the Grid Integration Division, the High Voltage Engineering team delivers pre-construction engineering and construction/commissioning engineering for High Voltage facilities associated with renewable energy power plants. Voltage ranges from 35kV up to 500kV. Oversee the entirety of our project development pipeline and focus on understanding grid integration requirements for renewables. -
Customer Substation Engineer IiSouthern California Edison (Sce) Dec 2018 - Mar 2022Rosemead, Ca, UsI worked in the Added Facilities & Interconnection Facilities (AF/IF) department which is also known as Customer Substation Projects division. In this role I work as a Responsible Engineer for the facilities development and cost development for customers( both load and generation) applying to connect to the SCE grid. We lead the facility and cost development for the study which requires the collaboration between system planning and all of the various stakeholders across SCE to determine a cost, scope and duration for in-servicing. This is accomplished by developing preliminary substation designs and requirements for each of the various stakeholders and this result is then given to customers so they understand what is needed to interconnect. We present the scope of work, cost and duration to customer’s through a results meeting, where we will answer questions and provide them with the next step options. My mission is to find the most economical and efficient way possible to interconnect these customer's while ensuring that we follow SCE's mission statements. -
Customer Engineer/ Substation EngineerSouthern California Edison (Sce) Feb 2017 - Mar 2022Rosemead, Ca, UsI work in the Added Facilities & Interconnection Facilities (AF/IF) department which is also known as Customer Substation Projects. This is a group that works closely with Substation Projects to help customers( both load and generation) connect to the grid in the most economical and efficient way possible. We participate in the overall study which will determine the impact a customer will have on the grid. We then present the scope of work, cost and impact they have. We perform preliminary substation design to give the customer an idea of what is needed to interconnect. -
Substation Engineer InternSouthern California Edison (Sce) Jun 2016 - Sep 2016Rosemead, Ca, UsI worked as a Responsible Engineer (R.E.) as a part of the substation department at Southern California Edison and I developed a set of tools to be used in the analysis of station light and power (SL&P). These tools will allow SCE engineers to know whether the current SL&P transformer arrangement can handle the predicted load of the substation and can allow you to simulate moving loads to different circuit breaker panels for better load balancing on 1-phase and 3-phase transformers. -
Lead EngineerSenior Design Ucsc Jan 2016 - Jun 2016This includes the managing of a 12 person group that is split up into 4 subgroups. It was a horizontal hierachy but as the lead engineer I was responsible for taking the necessary steps to make sure we were always moving forward and looking for better ideas on how to implement our power system in the tiny home.

Substation Engineer InternSouthern California Edison (Sce) Jun 2015 - Sep 2015Rosemead, Ca, UsElectrical engineering internship for substation distribution engineering and equipment. Identified problems at substations, coordinated with other engineering groups, found relevant drawings, equipment and designed new installations. Duties included analysis of equipment upgrades/failures, identified equipment changes, and procured equipment. I learned to use SCE design processes, tools, process checks and standards for review/drawing release.
