IT Manager – University of Washington, Housing and Food Services – (2007- 2019)- Team Leader: I have successfully lead two full time professional and three part time student employees since taking the Help Desk position in 2007. When I took over the help desk, it took on average 5-7 days to complete a work order, which with my team we have reduced to 1-3 days. Under my direction, our team has accomplished the timely and accurate resolution of thousands of work orders, expertly upgraded and replaced hundreds of hardware devices and software applications all the while maintaining a professional working relationship and a positive customer service record with all the HFS departments.- Far-reaching support of HFS: My Help Desk team and I expertly procure, configure, deploy, and support over hundreds of technical resources year round. We provide 24/7/365 support for over 1500 HFS employees who use these resources across three university campuses spread out over the Puget Sound. The ability to support so much so well with only existing resources directly correlates to high performance in any position.- Consistently Productive: As a productive member of the IT Leadership Project Management Team we have accomplished the completion of numerous IT projects on time and within budget. Some highlights in the last few years include the relocation of all the HFS units out of Lander Hall, the replacement of all existing computer desktop hardware and software, the opening of four new resident halls including a grocery store and restaurant, the standing up of five mobile dining units, and the closing and reopening of the Husky Den.

- Project Management and Customer Service: I have had a leadership role from the beginning. Integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do, is more than just a motto. My first day of work in the Air Force I was immediately put in charge of a $6 million dollar project charged with providing over 40 miles of fiber connectivity to more than 50 buildings in less than a year’s time. I quickly learned the value of teamwork, applying project management theory, working with different communications styles, and most importantly understanding the perspective of the customer. - Improved Morale and Encouragement: I believe in the importance of morale in a work environment. I believe my experience with The Air Force’s robust awards and recognition system can benefit this role as a whole. Teamwork, perfect attendance, and exceptional performance, are just a few categories in which I would encourage participation. - Enhanced Communication: I know how to accomplish goals in a large organization. In 2004 I was a successful team leader for the network security department for the entire pacific area of operations. This role taught me how to communicate with units who were spread out geographically and had very different missions, goals, and traditions. Using leadership skills and understanding the importance of unit policies my team achieved collaboration between units, working together on the common goal of securing the computer network. - Emergency Planning: I have personal experience with large scale multi-department emergency plans. In 2006 I was the team leader in charge of reviewing, updating, and evaluating the emergency plans for all of McChord AFB. I successfully worked with over 15 different units to timely review and update their respective sections of the emergency plans. The collaboration skills and emergency planning techniques gained in this position are very relevant and applicable to tasks day to day.
