During my three month Masters placement with Sheffield Major Events Team I helped prepare, produce and deliver large scale events, including the Fringe at Tramlines Festival, Cliffhanger and the UK Invictus Trials. My dissertation was to produce an Events Impact Framework which assessed the economic and wider benefits of hosting these events within Sheffield. The framework will allow SCC to justify their event funding and evaluate the success and longevity of individual events and their entire programme. I have continued to work for SCC since completing my placement.

During my Masters I completed a voluntary consultancy project for the charity, Brendan Ingle Foundation, to increase community engagement in sport and physical activity within the Lower Wincobank region of Sheffield. The project required me to conduct empirical primary research within the community and develop a strategy based on the findings. This covered the types of activity desired, example sessions, what government or private funding and support could be accessed, a pricing strategy and an action plan for the foundation.
