I contracted with Auto Owner’s Insurance to aid in the development of their partner, Concord Group Insurance’s, new customer web portal. My primary responsibilities included modifying Concord Group Insurance’s back-end system to interface between their established customer information database and their new customer web portal. To facilitate this, I modified SQL code and tables to pass this information along to their C# servers. I also was in charge of creating a small application that would search a SQL database for currently active users, and then create and send automated emails to them to inform them about the imminent release of Concord Customer Center (C3). Initially, I was working from the Auto Owner’s offices in Grand Rapids, MI, while working remotely with Concord Group Insurance out of Concord, NH. Due to complications from COVID, Auto Owner’s mandated that its staff work remotely from home. Due to my previous experience working remote with Concord, this proved to be a smooth transition. • C# back-end systems ◦ The majority of this project involved modifying back-end business systems to retrieve information from various databases and return it to the front end. • SQL development ◦ Modified some SQL storage procedures, as well as tables, to return the correct information to the back-end servers. • Email automation ◦ I was responsible for creating an application that sent users an introductory email to inform them of the new customer portal that was being released. • Working remote ◦ Despite working out of the Auto Owner’s office, all of my correspondence with Concord
