Responsibilities range from management of all production tasks to hands on cellar work, development of procedures, schedules, budgets and safety programs, as well as being part of strong sales and marketing initiatives. Working with ultra premium Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from Russian River, Carneros, Sonoma Coast and Napa Valley appellations.

Responsible for managing and monitoring all winemaking processes for mid-size (8,000 tons) winery in Italy during harvest of 2001. Primary varieties produced were Nagroamaro, Nero d’Avola, Lambrusco, Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Primitivo. All verbal and written communications were in Italian along with intense hands-on winemaking.

Assisting with daily production activates, scheduling cellar task, monitoring analytical data, coordinating lab blends and trials, managing experiments and monitoring barrel fermentation operations. Focus was on Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and Syrah programs at Gallo Sonoma Winery. Managed and designed 2,000-barrel insert and alternative oak source program. Routine communications with wine industry supply venders. Frequently joined marketing and distributing groups to discuss wine program styles and concepts of the wines made at Gallo Sonoma.

Perform analysis on wine, juice, and field samples. Prepare and interpret results of fining trials, stability testing and filterability testing. Prepare and interpret microbiological analysis. Perform quality control on bottling line. Monitoring and managing all harvesting vineyard experiments. Perform hands-on small wine making for research winery from harvesting to bottling. Corresponding between winemaking and laboratory departments. Requesting and monitoring daily analysis. Collaborating on most winemaking decisions. Perform routine sensory evaluations.
