Computers and Music, two words that succinctly sum up my life's work and passions. My interest in computers was a gift given to me by my grandfather who spent most of his career working for Hewlett Packard. Hours were spent in a smoke filled garage (back when smoking indoors was still a thing), cannibalizing old desktops to build new, faster ones. The goal, make a system that could run the most cutting edge games at the highest settings. Naturally this propensity for tinkering led me to the wonderful world of programming. After all, why play someone else's game when you can design your own? From there I spent most of my time learning object-oriented design paradigms and implementing them in an array of long, albeit not well constructed, text-based and 2D RPG adventure games for good ole MS-DOS. As my toolbelt grew and the internet became faster, my interest in making games waned and gave way to more technical applications such as building my own JAVA chat applet, designing private networks to play and chat with friends and hosting public servers for personal webpages. I was then, and am now, enamored with the power of manifesting real world solutions using little more than a text editor and know-how. Professionally, I have been working with Tri-Global Technologies, LLC for the past decade building custom software to map resources with high accuracy (<1cm). Our goal is to provide geospatial data collection, visualization and manipulation tools that provide mission-critical insights for our clients. In this role I have had the privilege of designing and building every aspect of a modern SaaS application, from back-end data storage and processing to front-end UI/UX. Leveraging my own personal experience, an API-first development model, N-tier architecture and the power of cloud based platforms, I have migrated our software offerings from desktop applications to dynamic web and mobile apps powered by a RESTful API. When I'm not building new features or squashing bugs, or "playing with the internet" as I like to describe it, I can be found in recording studios and on stages throughout the US and abroad. Music, like computers, has been a life-long passion of mine and I have spent more than half of my life performing. Although any noise maker will do, I find myself most comfortable behind a drum set or with a guitar. Currently, I can be heard in my ongoing project, Hunger Anthem, on whatever music streaming platform you prefer. In addition to performing, I also enjoy audio recording and have built my own studio to master the art.
