In 2003, he and his business partner created Security Pacific Home Loans (SPHL), a unique mortgage bank with a business model bringing loan origination into the real estate office. SPHL’s “Streamline” process was an Internet based B2B application allowing Realtors® to originate mortgages in a RESPA compliant manor. King and his partner sold the company to Ownit Mortgage solutions in June 2006.

In 2001, he started IndyMac Bank’s LoanWorks division aimed at capturing purchase money mortgage transactions from the real estate community. As president of IndyMac’s LoanWorks B2R division, his purchase transaction technology grew business to over $1 billion annually. In 2000, King working with e-Loan and the Electronic Financial Services Council, introduced the first online delivery of mortgage documents and established the first “electronic mortgage transaction.”

The foundation of King’s career comes from his time at Countrywide as both CIO of the lending divisions and as EVP of Consumer Direct Lending which was considered the pioneer in internet lending at the time.
