With 30+ years experience managing technology for large financial institutions, King is currently the Managing Director for Marine Software Consulting, a boutique consulting firm specializing in IT strategies and implementation services. King pioneered Internet based technologies aimed at improving efficiency, capturing market share, and bringing business value through automation. He is highly skilled at planning and deploying large national infrastructures with a focus on security concerns plaguing the Internet today. He has managed budgets in excess of $25M and is a proponent for the latest strategies including cloud based computing and the use of business process outsourcing. King was CIO for Prospect Mortgage, where his efforts were directed at creating technologies to support a rapidly changing mortgage environment. King implemented both the infrastructure and software automation to support all of Prospect’s business functions. King’s prior career spans the entire spectrum, from start-up, through IPO, to management of regulated entities. He and his business partner created Security Pacific Home Loans (SPHL), a unique mortgage bank with a business model bringing loan origination into the real estate office, and subsequently sold the company to Ownit. King started IndyMac Bank’s LoanWorks division driving annual origination business to $1 billion. Working with e-Loan and the Electronic Financial Services Council (EFSC), he introduced the first online delivery of mortgage documents and established the first “electronic mortgage transaction.” King’s career foundation comes from his time at Countrywide as both CIO and EVP of Consumer Direct Lending. Mr. King has an active NMLS license for originating loans in California. He is past President of the EFSC, a mortgage industry political action committee. He has been a board member of both the Microsoft and Intuit real estate industry advisory councils. King has a degree in Electrical Engineering from USC.
