Managing a team at ARPANSA operating and expanding the Australian National Radiation Dose Register.Working in the Monitoring, Assessment and Emergency Preparedness Section of ARPANSA.As the Public & occupational exposure specialist for ARPANSA I have been involved with the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation as a significant contributor for their Occupational and Public Exposure Reports. I have also contributed to the International Atomic Energy Agency on reports, developing and delivery of training and as a member of their radiation transport committee, TRANSSC.

Leading Environment and Health improvements for Boyne Smelters including identified Capital Projects.Identified a more suitable site discharge monitoring location and commenced a project to change locations to reduce the risk of discharge breaches, the existing location was within the site boundary and failed to utilise 2 km of onsite dilution.

Manage Health & Hygiene Teams at BSL Aluminium Smelter. Provide specialist advice for control of health and hygiene hazards.Lead team through significant period of change while reducing operational costs and maintaining corporate and statutory compliance.

Six month secondment to Carbon department to focus on coal tar pitch volatile (CTPV) exposure reduction in the Green Carbon plant at Boyne Smelters Limited.Implemented controls resulting in significant exposure reductions for workers exposed to Coal Tar Pitch Volatiles.

Managed Radiation & Occupational Hygiene Teams at Olympic Dam Copper/Uranium Mine. Statutory Radiation Safety Officer.Provided specialist advice for radiation protection and occupational hygiene hazards and controls.During my employment with BHP Billiton I was selected to attend the World Nuclear University Summer Institute in 2011. This six-week intensive nuclear leadership and professional development program is built on a foundation of instruction from the world’s leading nuclear experts.

Managed Mine Radiation Safety department. Provided specialist advice for radiation protection and occupational hygiene hazards and controls for underground mining operation. Acted as site hygienist October 2007 to January 2009

Implement radiation management plan monitoring program for Ranger Mine. Completed radiological assessment for Ranger mine closure.

Primary responsibility to manage audit response from Queensland Radiation Health. Other responsibilities included management of premises, apparatus, sources, user licences, training programs & Radiation Management Plans.Role was performed during completion of PhD studies at QUT. Role was offered as permanent position upon completion of studies.

Responsible for the implementation of the environmental radiation monitoring program including the maintenance and calibration of all the equipment.Role was performed during PhD studies.

Radiation laboratory duties. Assisted with 3 major projects during employement. Radiation laboratory relocation, disposal of legacy waste sources & radon emission project from Olympic Dam.Role was taken between completion of Masters degree and commencement of PhD.
