After graduating with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly SLO, I accepted a position as a field engineer with Condon-Johnson & Associates, Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area. There I was exposed to a wide range of geotechnical design-build projects such as deep foundations and internally braced shoring.I had the incredible opportunity to play a key role in the construction of two major projects in San Francisco-Park Tower and Chase Center. The bulk of my field experience came from my nine months onsite at Park Tower. While the project became a massive commitment of time and responsibility, the experience I gained was irreplaceable. Management determined that they could count on me for the next big contract, so shortly after finishing up at Park Tower I began work preparing for Chase Center. In March 2017 I decided to take a break from work to do some traveling. In November of the same year I resumed my career in shoring and foundations with Case Pacific Company as a senior project engineer. At Case Pacific I quickly adapted to a relatively high level of autonomy and the responsibility that accompanied it.I worked on various types of shoring, foundation, and ground improvement projects in mountains, forests, and cities, and networked with various types of trades and people. As I continued to develop my technical and soft skills, I worked my way up from assisting on bids and in-progress projects to assembling my own estimates and managing jobs on my own.By the time I was promoted to project manager I was no stranger to bidding and managing projects of various shapes and sizes. Responsibility grew with my experience and soon I was managing millions of dollars worth of work per year. Projects ranged from small design-build retaining walls to extensive micropile systems for seismic retrofits. My work was consistently challenging, interesting, and at times exhausting, but the growth I saw in my skills and resolve was always worth it. As time went on I found myself wanting to expand my engineering skills more than what was possible working purely on the contracting side. I had always wanted obtain my P.E. license and perform design work at some capacity, and in my current field that wasn't going to happen. In September 2023 I made the decision to take some time off from working and study full-time to acquire my P.E. license. I am proud to say that I am now a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California and looking to pivot my career into design or consultant work in a new field.

Project ManagerCase Pacific May 2022 - Sep 2023Livermore, CaWorking as a project manager I was responsible for all aspects of drilling and shoring projects ranging from tens of thousands to millions of dollars in value. Projects included competitive bids (in both the private and public sector) as well as negotiated contracts. My responsibilities required that I work closely and manage relationships with all stakeholders - including the project owners, general contractors, public entities, and subcontractors - to ensure that projects are complete safely, on time, and within budget. Additionally, I developed and grew relationships with vendors to procure materials, third-tier subcontractors, and other services for projects to meet SB/DVBE requirements. My position demanded that I could solve technical problems alongside typical operational challenges such as a tight schedules, constrained budgets, and long material lead times. My most successful projects were those that allowed me to leverage my engineering knowledge during the planning and design process so that I could make informed decisions during construction and implementation. Knowing why a design choice was made early on allowed me to pivot or make changes during construction to maintain the same engineering outcome. -
