While going to school in regional North Queensland, I was attracted to the idea of being to solve seemingly any problem with just a personal computer with an internet connection and knowing how to use it.I moved to Sydney to study Computer Science, but after settled in Brisbane to be closer to home without sacrificing the opportunities that come with being in an urban center. A happy middle ground. After working in both software startups and corporations, I pivoted to take on analyst and officer roles in the public service. Most recently, I worked in a software consultancy whose focus is on public sector clients. It's quite fitting then that my specialty is middleware development - with a focus on Java and GraphQL - though, as that career description would suggest, I value remaining flexible and staying ready to adapt. I prefer Agile development and being able work directly with stakeholder parties, to establish common ground and ensure the work I do has the best possible impact on final outcomes.I'm passionate about finding ways to improve society in systematic ways, as well as advocating for greater awareness and better accommodation of neurodiversity. As we've become all too aware of in recent times, we don't know what the future will bring, but I look forward to whichever opportunities I get to take on and am committed to working hard to be ready for them.
