I have developed expertise in fuel conserving and productivity boosting measures for off-road forest machines and forest product hauling fleets. - Provide technical assistance to field staff to reduce negative impacts of forest roads including location, construction technique, surface treatment (i.e. paving), use planning and decommissioning potential.- Supervise construction projects that required technical expertise, for example: paving, installation of large culverts and bridges on fish bearing streams, abandonment of large fills and restoration of fish passage, sediment prevention and control techniques.- Compile contract clauses, technical specifications, access permits, and road design for creation of Department Road Plans.- Conduct job interviews, and organize the hiring of summer interns, supervise daily activities of interns and provide guidance in the duties of a staff engineer with the Department.- Engineer water crossings on fish bearing streams involving bridges, culverts submerged partially on gradients of 0 to 15%, and multiplate metal culverts.- Compile specifications and documentation for Access Road Revolving Fund and Public Works contracts for road paving, construction, abandonment, brushing, grading, rock drilling and quarry reclamation. Documents and permits for these projects have included Forest Practices Application, Hydraulic Project Approval, SEPA, DNR HCP Management Activity Summaries, and WSDOT Access Permit.- Calculate project cost estimates for construction, reconstruction, and abandonment activities.- Conducted slope stability assessment using a geotechnical drive probe to compare relative densities of soil layers, and proposed site mitigation to enhance soil stability and/or protect resources.- Created a harvest plan for Sumas Mountain using PC ARC Info and Snap.
