Last fall I moved to Thailand, where weed was recently decriminalized. I received a work permit, then I lived locally and worked on site every day as a general manager of all things production related. I purchased supplies, inventoried, and taught new workers. I germinated seeds, maintained healthy moms, cloned, defoliated, trained, harvested, bucked, trimmed, dried and cured... everything. It was a true test of the skills I learned from my seniors in Cali and Massachusetts, and I am proud to say I started with nothing and ended with large fragrant flowers that maintained their appearance, smell, and potency 6 months to a year after harvest. There were hiccups as with any new operation, but overall things went satisfyingly well and Thai growers + consumers often noted the unusual stickiness and unique fragrance of a lot of our weed. I'm proud of the amount I've learned in a relatively short time, and I love sharing.

Clone stock was maintained in isolated indoor facilities.- Defoliation, plant topping, trellising, and otherwise encouraging our plants' good growth- Mixing fertilizer in storage tanks and atomizers, feeding liquid and foliar food on a schedule- Using climate controls including HVACD, shade cloths, ridge ventilation, wet walls, and humidifiers- Inspecting plants daily for pests, mold, nutrient deficiencies, and other potential growth limitations- Carrying out regular IPM including organic insecticidal fogging and beneficial insect releases- Chopping, hanging, bucking down, and trimming our plants into finished flower for curing- Maintaining proper climate in the curing room using dehumidifiers and HVAC

Growing microgreens from seed to harvest in a Deep Water Culture aquaponic greenhouse. I performed tasks including:- Meeting daily seeding and harvest quotas for local restaurants and chefs in need of regular deliveries- Monitoring pH and EC, adjusting where necessary- Composting plant material and coco coir plugs, turning our compost pile regularly- Feeding a mixture of koi and tilapia daily, monitoring fish health to ensure good plant nutrition- Identifying pest species and treating plants (all organic, though not certified)- Identifying species of interest to local restaurants and chefs so we could grow more attractive options
