Part of the platform team, responsible for developing cloud based micro-services and frontends.

In this role, I've been able to enact huge positive changes in the way Valocity approaches front-end development, and connects with design. I've also received great satisfaction growing our front-end capability, advocating for user experience, and orchestrating the implementation of our first design system and component libraries.

An 18 week web development bootcamp, focused around JavaScript and other auxiliary technologies, with a strong push into embracing our own learning styles along with new technologies.Along with strong technical skills, one of their biggest goals is to foster a deep culture of open communication, open source ideas and team orientated project development.During my time here I completed approx. 1000 hours of practical, individual and team learning in JavaScript based Web Development. This included:- highly curated tutorials- group discussions- five minute “lightening talks”- creating and delivering our own 30 minute lecture- a three week individual project- a team project each week where we had to design and build a minimum viable product for our client- a final seven day group project/presentation to friends, family and industry employers

Key Responsibilities- Creating technical production drawings with AutoCAD from engineering and architectural plans.- Liaising with clients about work schedules, job variations and scope.- Peer reviewing other team members drawings to ensure they were correct and to best practice.Projects- Mackays to Peka Peka Expressway- Ryman Healthcare Waikanae Retirement Village- New Wellington Airport Parking BuildingReason for leaving - To pursue career in web development.

Key Responsibilities- Overseeing production so all products met strict quality regulations.- Producing quotes to accurately assess costs and win jobs.- Capture and analysis of production data to improve procedures and efficiency.- Liaising with clients, engineers, site contacts and suppliers.- Development of companywide production procedures.- Creating technical production drawings in AutoCAD.- Organising product loading, transport and logistics.- Monthly health and safety audits and recommendations to reduce site injuries.Projects- Stormwater 360 - Christchurch Hospital- Christchurch Arts Centre Achievements- Supervision of 12 full time staff and regular contractors to ensure schedules were achieved and quality of product was high.- Developed processes and systems to ensure business was able to meet demand as we grew from a startup to key player in Christchurch rebuild.- Managed Stormwater360 project which enabled us to reach new markets within NZ.
