Current• RV Smith & Co specialises in ceilings, partitions, roofing, waterproofing, and turnkey solutions• I prepare and present documents for tenders and handle tender estimating and pricing build-up• In addition to contract negotiation and execution, I manage and oversee company contracts and interpret and apply contractual law (JBCC 2000 Edition)• My duties include quantity surveying and take-offs, the compilation of estimates, budgets and time scales, strict health and safety assurance, and the compilation of health and safety files• I provide technical expertise, and I formulate construction programmes with focus on target achievement• My portfolio includes site staff recruitment and human resource management, site agent management, and client relations management• It is necessary for me to ensure efficient cost control and financial planning• I handle monthly draw submissions and final account submissions and invoicing• Further to my duties, I am the Chairman of the Internal Labour Committee and Bargaining Counsel Representative, and the Employment Equity Manager and Company Representative.
