I am blessed with a career that I find extremely rewarding. When I first entered the field of court reporting I was faced with the choice of becoming a steno writer or learning the new frontier of voice writing. With a desire to be on the cutting edge of the industry, I am a Voice Writer using speech recognition technology, ViaVoice and Dragon Naturally Speaking. As a court reporter, one of the only Voice Writers in South Carolina at that time, I utilized AccuCap Vox and ViaVoice in courtroom and deposition settings to produce official verbatim records of proceedings.I am one of the first group of Voice Writers Caption Colorado recruited to provide CART (Communication Access Real-time Translation) in many output formats.As a member of Media Captioning Services I work as a Voice Writer in a remote capacity to caption live television. I cover a wide array of media, such as local and national news channels, local and national sporting events, political speeches, etc.I am particularly proud to have been part of the team that captioned the Tour de France in 2009 and 2010.
