Water Efficiency Program Coordinator
In his role as Water Efficiency Program Coordinator at Toronto Water Cameron is charged with creating, implementing and promoting incentive and public education programs designed to encourage water conservation across The City. These programs are aimed at all sectors within the City from individual residents, to small businesses, to large institutional or industrial customers. Incentive based programs include:- Rebates for the replacement of water guzzling toilets and clothes washers with new water efficient models- Reduced water rates for industrial customers that commit to water efficient improvements to their facilities- Incentives for commercial or institutional customers that make water efficient improvements to their buildingsSuch programs help reduce Toronto's water demand by encouraging the use of the most water efficient fixtures, equipment, and technologies across all sectors, while public education programs encourage every individual to conserve water in their daily lives. Public education tools, such as outreach teams, free in-home water efficient landscape consultations, classroom visits, advertising and promotional events are key to pushing the message of water conservation.Cameron has also worked towards leveraging partnerships with retailers, industry associations, surrounding municipalities, and other utilities (Enbridge, Toronto Hydro, etc.) to promote the concept of conservation, whether it be energy or water (or both), while reducing overall costs for all parties and taking a more holistic approach to greening our City.Cameron has written articles for City, and industry association newsletters, and has presented at the Ontario Water Works Associations' annual conference on behalf of Toronto Water's water efficiency programs.
