I analyzed demographic data to create redistricting plans for various local jurisdictions in order to meet legal requirements for equal population and minority protection. I used ArcGIS software to create maps and reports of those plans for elected officials and residents to understand how proposed redistricting changes would affect them and their community. I conducted meetings with elected officials to understand their concerns and implement changes as needed to proposed redistricting plans.Starting in April 2022 I managed the entire redistricting project. I worked with lawyers, other GIS analysts, and clients to schedule meetings and address conflicts. I responded to requests for redistricting materials from clients and worked with my team to provide what they needed.

Jonestown, Texas

I researched ordinances of nearby cities and used them to revise and improve outdated ordinances for our city and answered questions about those revisions from the Planning Commission. I also evaluated permits and met with permit applicants to understand their plans and help them through the approval process.

I assisted with various projects that the IUPR conducts for its various clients. I analyzed datasets to gather key information and determine whether it was organized in a user-friendly way. I also researched and reviewed existing public policy literature and engaged in discussions with my internship cohorts.

I welcomed people into to the Career Center and assisted them in checking in. I answered phone calls, emails and online chat requests per day and ensured customers' various questions were answered and that their needs were met. I scheduled appointments students to meet with career consultants and provided a clear and concise description for the consultant to understand what the student wanted to discuss and get help with. I used tools such as Microsoft Excel to complete special projects related to processing student worker documents, managing resource inventory, and other career center needs.
