During the first 6 months at the company my journey started as a Structural Trainee Technician where I used overmarks to design Structural Drawings on CAD (Computer Aided Design). After honing my CAD skills, I was given the opportunity to sample Civil Engineering which I was delighted to do. After a few months, I felt as if I found my fit realising that I preferred Civil to Structural.My current roles/ knowledge as a Civil Engineering Trainee Technician:• Drainage Designs/reports• Waterman Designs / Diversions• Vehicle Swept Paths• Existing Services Design• Kerbing Design• Proposed Site Levels Design (Site 3D)• Scottish Water Applications (PDE, AIT, Technical Consents)• SSEN Applications• BT Applications• Existing Services Report• SFRS ApplicationI have completed a range of projects from single plot developments to 300+ housing developments and commercial areas. My jobs are primarily in Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Highlands and Orkney with a few jobs around Angus, Fife and Edinburgh. Also during my time at Cameron + Ross I have helped carry out some site visits completing infiltration/ percolation tests and surveying at a construction site. Although this is not my forte I really enjoy working on them as they get me more involved in the project and gives me a different perspective on the job at hand.

Some of my tasks and duties include stacking shelves, facing the products up so the store looks neat and tidy, assisting customers in finding where products are located, and answering any questions they may have. I am also skilled at date rotation for products with a shorter shelf life and in the bakery. I also have experience making breakfast rolls, and on my Saturday morning shift, I usually make 150+ rolls while controlling speed and time management whilst still maintaining the highest quality. I also handle POS system transactions such as credit card, cash, returns, and exchanges with care to ensure smooth and accurate till transactions.
