As a senior accountant, my main responsibilities include leading audit engagements, training and supervising staff, and completing files from start to finish. When in charge of an audit engagement, I assign tasks to the team and provide guidance and training to ensure that staff members understand their responsibilities and are equipped to perform their duties to the highest standard. In conjunction, I will review the work completed by staff and ensure that it meets the required quality standards. While aiding other team members I will complete the more difficult audit areas and communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and provide regular updates on the progress of the audit.

I work on a wide variety of engagements including for-profit, government, and non-profit entities ranging in size from a local non-profit to a multinational corporation and its subsidiaries.

I started at an entry-level position performing physical tasks and repairs. I used my leadership and technical skills to quickly become a student supervisor. I eventually was responsible for overseeing operations for as many as 20 employees and providing them assignments. Some tasks I performed include assigning work orders, purchasing inventory, calling customers, updating record-keeping practices, collecting receipts, recording hours, confirming transactions, and reviewing resumes.
