I work in major projects construction, this deals with high pressure sites, whether this is pipeline diversion or upgrade of existing sites.
Christchurch, Uk
I am a fully qualified SAP Assessor. I have expanded my responsibilities and am able to complete Part G water calculations as well as sustainability statements and energy statements. I have also begun to participate in the company blog producing a small information piece roughly once a month.
Truro, United Kingdom
A work placement between 3rd and 4th year. Primary role was to analyse clients houses for solar potential, assess best panel layout and produce quotes for clients. I also completed site surveys which aimed at measuring up homes of clients as well as informing them about what we do, what they gain from solar panels and any other questions they may have. As part of this placement upon our return to complete the fourth year we should continue to work for the company as well as produce a report for the company to help them gain a little extra from each student. My project revolved around researching technologies the company is considering moving into and look at integrating this into the office as exemplar show pieces for clients to view.
Didcot
I completed this work placement as part of my degree course during construction of the first operational bio-methane to network plant at Didcot sewage treatment works. I composed a report for the company directors to detail the process involved. I assisted correlation of onsite records between the design team and contractors.
Hedge End
For 2 years I worked at Wickes Building Supplies within a team of 4 other people. I became a senior assistant giving guidance and advice where needed. This allowed me to develop skills such as mediation and communication. On a number of occasions I was required to deal with irate customers, with a view to calming and resolving the situation. I would also regularly cover the cash desk which required daily reconciliation.
