I chose RCH as the medical center to purse my transition in practice from ER to Intensive Care due to its reputation as a facility that serves a diverse patient population and large number of severe illnesses and injures. I was assigned to the 35 bed SICU/CVICU, which in addition to complex and high acuity illnesses, serves as the trauma and open heart admission unit.
