I currently hold a Bechelor’s Degree in Criminology (with Distinction) from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. In the next year I am aiming at pursuing a a career in High School education via the PDP program between a variety of institutions. I am a firm believer in the importance of learning and the variety of environments it can stem from. My prior experience working as a Science Facilitator showed me that everyone has their own way of learning, it was this thought process that led me to aspire to become a high school teacher. I believe that it is important for everyone to discover their own method for learning and navigating through the vast body of knowledge that exists around us. Despite the difficulties that can exist within a profession such as teaching, it is that navigational journey that inspires me to continue my own journey of becoming a teacher.My prior experience in the museum industry has provided me with many skills to succeed in the classroom and education-based environments. I have learned public speaking skills through my instruction of workshops and public demonstrations. I also have developed skills in content creation, content design, and skills relating to guest interactions both with adults and children. My undergrad experience thus far has provided me with written and oral skills that allow me to convey my knowledge professionally in a variety of formats including Google Office, Microsoft Word, as well as in the form of an academic essay. I believe that it is these unique experiences that have assisted me on my learning journey and will help me assist others with their own learning.
