I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the situations where they are the underdog - and that is an everpresent dynamic between property owners and their insurance companies. So I've made a career of ensuring they receive the support and compensation they deserve. My mission is to provide expert guidance and advocacy in times of crisis, transforming challenging situations into manageable and positive outcomes.Through a series of unexpected circumstances, I found myself in Houston, Texas in the fall of 2017, shortly after Hurricane Harvey had swept through. I was there volunteering in heavily affected communities, facilitating groups to help youth process the experience of losing their homes and being displaced. To pay the bills during my few weeks there, I took a friendly referral to work in insurance claims. This was my first introduction to the field, and I quickly realized the significant impact I could make.Upon returning home, I continued to dive deeper into property claims adjusting, handling thousands of claims in Southern California. When COVID-19 hit, the lockdowns forced me out of my music work, and I committed fully to claims adjusting. In 2020, I made a pivotal decision to switch from representing insurance companies to advocating for individuals who experienced damage. I became a licensed Public Adjuster and joined Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau, one of California's most established and long-standing firms.Inspired to make expert claims assistance accessible to everyone, I co-founded Tugboat in 2021, an online service that supports homeowners with their claims. Through my work as a public adjuster and at Tugboat, I dedicate each day to helping individuals recoup what they've lost due to property damage.Before my journey into claims management, I graduated in 2013 from Cal State Northridge with a degree in Music Therapy. I worked in various roles that I loved within this field, including facilitating groups at drug and alcohol rehabs, working one-on-one with individuals with disabilities, and creating programs for youth who had experienced trauma.
