I am a shareholder and trial attorney with the law firm of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA, handling cases involving catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death. I am proud to have been recognized by my peers and selected by Florida Super Lawyers in 2011, 2012 and again in 2013 as a “Rising Star” in the area of personal injury law. My law practice is primarily focused on personal injury and wrongful death cases involving unsafe and dangerous products, automobile, semi truck, motorcycle and pedestrian accidents, medical negligence, industrial accidents involving equipment failure, gas, propane, chemical and thermal burns. I am honored to have obtained numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of a number of my clients. I am an aggressive advocate for the rights of victims to pursue justice in the courts. I am an EAGLE member of the Florida Justice Association. I was appointed to the FJA Board of Directors in 2009 and have since been reelected to the board of directors each year since then. In 2010 and 2012 I was proud to be honored with FJA’s Shoe Leather Award for dedicated and effective contributions on behalf of FJA’s legislative efforts. I frequently write and lecture about civil trial practice, personal injury and wrongful death litigation. I am a member of the American Association for Justice, the American Inns of Court, the Florida Bar Association, and the Tallahassee Bar Association. I was fortunate to be one of the youngest trial lawyers to be awarded membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum – The Top Trial Lawyers in America for achieving jury verdicts and settlements in excess of one million dollars. I earned both my undergraduate and law degrees from The Florida State University. While attending law school I had the privilege of serving as the President of the Mock Trial Team.
