Conducted business development by recruiting technology firms to choose Virginia. Oversaw all technology related tax and jobs issues, including: o The Commonwealth’s first Data Center Tax Credit; and o Ensuring the Governor’s Business One Stop (BOS) initiative was completed by creating and sponsoring legislation to ensure the State Corporation Commission digitized its services and integrated with BOS, and engaging agencies with MOU’s and overseeing project deadlines and completion per agency. Created and implemented all the Governor’s Cyber Security Initiatives, including: o Creating and implementing the Governor’s first Cyber Challenge for high school students; o Helping grow the number of cyber courses in our schools; o Inventorying the Commonwealth’s cyber related assets; and o Co-authoring an overall policy plan for the Commonwealth on how to better protect and streamline our state agencies, and maintain and increase the cyber business foot print in Virginia (this plan has been used by following administrations). This work included working closely with our CIO and CISO to create action plans to engage other state agencies.
