Health Director
Current• Serve as the lead administrator to plan, develop and direct the community and clinical health services addressing the chronic, infectious and behavioral health needs of the Tunica Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana• Negotiate contracts for health and human services with federal, state and local partners• Provide leadership and representation for the tribe on health related federal consultation matters affecting sovereignty, self-determination and trust obligations of the federal government• Lead the opening of a full service ambulatory clinic and integration of community health, behavioral health and public health, wrap around services in the midst of the COVID pandemic• Ensure that all clinical and community health services meet compliance regulations as well as quality standards for patient care in accordance with the Tribe’s mission and objectives and applicable federal, state, Tribal and local laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures• Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, tribal, regional and national health and professional organizations and regulatory agencies• Direct the assessment, planning, development, implementation, administration and evaluation of comprehensive healthcare and prevention programs and activities as related to contract and grant requirements• Develop and establish appropriate goals and objectives for planning and implementing services and programs to meet the identified needs of the community• Provide leadership to ensure understanding of and promote comprehensive health program objectives• Oversee the development and expansion of programs including preventive medicine and public/community health programs• Advise and consult with Tribal operations and leaders to formulate and or revise policies, procedures, standards, protocols and guidelines• Oversee the professional development of 14 Health Department employees in accordance to the personnel policies and procedures
