CurrentThe role requires work in maximising Rent Collection and the provision of welfare advice including claiming Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. As part of good tenancy management it is important to ensure accurate records are kept and I am proficient in record management and the preparation of essential documentation, where necessary, for Court Cases and Pre-Proof/Proof Hearings. I am also experienced in attending Court and providing spoken evidence to the Court and the Sheriff where necessary for Proof Hearings. As the demand on Housing Stock is extremely high I am responsible for Void Property & Empty-Homes Management within my patch which requires me to ensure that any empty homes are advertised and let in a short time frame in order to minimise the time the property remains empty.Tenancy Management is a significant aspect of this post and the role enables me to provide assistance where needed, to my tenant's to ensure they are able to successfully sustain their tenancies and continue to live in safe, clean and prosperous environments. The role involves a significant amount of partnership working with other departments within the Council including the Department of Health & Social Care and the Revenues & Benefits Division as well as work with external agencies including the NHS, Police Scotland and the Department of Work and Pensions, amongst others.Property & Estates Management is another aspect of the job which involves ensuring the Council's Housing Stock and neighbourhoods are maintained to a high-standard which can involve the coordination of repairs to blocks and providing assistance to Homeowners and Private Landlords to facilitate the completion of communal and shared repairs under the Tenements (Scotland) Act 2004. This role has provided me with the opportunity to develop a proactive work approach and requires me to prioritise competing work loads. I have specific proficiency in Northgate (Public Services) and Civica database applications.
