I serve as the Chief Student Affairs Officer and an Administative Officer for the Institution. Student Affairs supports Longwood’s mission to prepare citizen leaders by providing educational and co-curricular opportunities designed to support and challenge students as they learn and develop. Student Affairs includes four units encompassing the Offices of Residential & Commuter Life, Student Conduct & Integrity, Title IX, Accessibility Resources, Dean of Students, Multicultural Affairs & Title VI, University Center & Student Activities, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Education & Prevention Programs, Student Engagement, Counseling & Psychological Services Center, University Health Center, Police and Public Safety, and the Longwood University Store.

Moton is considered “The Student Birthplace of America's Civil Rights Revolution. In my role with Moton I served as member of the President's Executive Council.

W. Taylor Reveley IV, President of Longwood appointed the Equity Action Task Force to make recommendations for actionable steps Longwood could pursue during the fall semester to address systemic racial inequality and discrimination. The Task Force was charged with making recommendations that included: Developing a process for addressing incidents of racial discrimination, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, designing opportunities for every student to engage with the Moton Museum and Farmville’s civil rights history, and proposing a series of Conversations on campus for the campus community. The Task Force was empowered to solicit recommendations for additional short-term, actionable steps, as well as work with the incoming Chief of Police & Director of Public Safety to plan for expanded diversity and inclusion training for campus police.

This role provides support to the Moton Museum with special projects and initiatives that help to aid in its strategic development. The role also provides support to Robert Russa Moton Museum Inc.

Accessibility Resources seeks to collaborate with all components of the University community to increase awareness, remove barriers, and promote an inclusive environment where students are empowered to be successful learners, self-advocates and citizen leaders. My focus with Accessibility Resources included providing academic success coaching, implementing accommodations related to assistive technology, testing, and note taking. I also helped to create several programs for the campus community including the Inclusive Excellence Awards, People First Campaign, and securing a new assistive technology platform.

I served as a Graduate Intern for the office. The Center for Academic Success works to support the academic needs of Longwood Students. My work with the center focused on working with the Academic Success staff to implement an Early Alert program for at-risk students. Serving as an Academic Coach to academically at-risk students. Assisting with the creation, implementation, and facilitation of the Academic Workshop Series. Collaborating with campus partners to assist students with academic concerns and providing resources.

Central Virginia Training Center an agency of the Department of Health, Behavior, Health, and Developmental Services is committed to providing effective, compassionate and individually responsive services to individuals with intellectual disabilities both int he community and in residence. I worked in the Recreation Department with a team of professionals to provide support services to individuals with disabilities.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs works to provide a meaningful experience and support for underrepresented populations. My focus with the office was to provided programming and operational support to the office while they underwent restructuring. I also co-facilitated with the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs a national search for the Director and provided support to the University Diversity Council.
