With over 10 years of experience in higher education, I have a passion for supporting student success, engagement, and well-being.I also serve as the Senior Partner for Strategic Initiatives at the Robert Russa Moton Museum, a National Historic Landmark affiliated with Longwood University. As the Senior Partner, I help the museum with special projects and initiatives that aid its growth and development. I also have a background in public history, museum, and nonprofit management, with a proven record of leading teams and building community around ideas that have a significant impact. Taylor Reveley IV, President of Longwood appointed the Equity Action Task Force to make recommendations for actionable steps Longwood could pursue during the fall semester to address systemic racial inequality and discrimination. The Task Force was charged with making recommendations that included: Developing a process for addressing incidents of racial discrimination, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, designing opportunities for every student to engage with the Moton Museum and Farmville’s civil rights history, and proposing a series of Conversations on campus for the campus community. The Task Force was empowered to solicit recommendations for additional short-term, actionable steps, as well as work with the incoming Chief of Police & Director of Public Safety to plan for expanded diversity and inclusion training for campus police.
