One of two students elected by peers across the municipality to represent the voice of over 49,000 students and sit on the board of trustees. My job included chairing the HWDSB Student Senate and leading various student initiatives in the school board, which includes Elementary Student Senate facilitating leadership activities for Gr. 5-8 Students in groups of 50 or larger. Also included being a part of the HWDSB Board of Trustees, fielding public inquiries, and many other tasks throughout the system.Being a student trustee is/was one of the most incredible experiences I've been able to have, and I've taken away immense learnings from the role. Working with our student senate to accomplish incredible student-led conferences and gather front-line feedback to advocate with at the board level has been one of many accomplishments I've been able to achieve in this role.
