Starting as a temporary contractor at the ANZ Ellerslie Contact Centre as an inbound agent handling and processing general banking needs, I then moved to ANZ in the CBD to start another contract processing Kiwisaver withdrawals within the wealth team.

Working at Spark prior to my study was a great opportunity to learn new skills, while honing my pre-existing customer service experience.

Having the opportunity to work in a fast paced advertising agency gave me great insight and experience in many areas. The project based nature of the company allowed me to hone my skills as both a team member and leader. Working with large clients, such as Nestlé, was both challenging, and rewarding. Unfortunately, my time with Vanilla Brief was cut short, due to an unsuccessful retender for a contract with their largest client Nestlé. As a result, I was one of a dozen staff made redundant. This came as a shock and a disappointment, as my responsibilities and position were continuing to grow in areas such as training and project management. However, the skills I obtained are invaluable and have granted me keen insight into the inner workings of many business practices as well as allowing me to grow not only as an employee, but as a person.

I consider 3 Legged Dog to be my ‘foot in the door’ experience of the design / development industry. I had the opportunity to work with knowledgeable co-workers, a multitude of clients, and varying technologies and methodologies. Working to deadlines while flexing my creative muscles was a challenge and a skill I relished and have enjoyed improving while working at 3 Legged Dog.

As an employee of Hygiene House, I was given the opportunity to develop my customer service and content management skills. My position involved answering customer queries via phone or email, taking and processing customer orders using pastel, and managing content on their online ordering system.

Datacom was commissioned to change over the entire phone network for Waikato Hospital. As a temporary employee through NextMove Recruitment, this position gave me an opportunity to work on a large scale project, and gain experience in team co-ordination.
