As part of this team, I designed and developed a system for vertical landing of the rocket fuselage and developed this design along with team mates for the 2016-2017 competition. This year, I helped to develop and write the proposal document for a autonomous robotic payload capable of deploying safely from the rocket, traversing 5 feet across the ground, and deploying solar panels upon reaching 5 feet. We designed and fully outlined three such payloads before selecting one. Although the Payloads team has decided to develop a target detection payload, I will still be contributing to the development and successful integration of this payload, and expect to still develop the rover as part of a new experimental payloads team.
