Lead Network EngineerA multi-faceted position providing engineering services to Air Force Life Cycle Materiel Command (AFLCMC) Aerial Networking Division, Quick Reaction Capabilities branch. As a part of a small team, I am asked to execute tasks across the spectrum - ranging from troubleshooting with our operational customers to briefing senior leadership. My current assignment is to the Airforce Network GIG Interface (ANGI) program, which bridges the gap between highly available COMSATCOM services and terrestrial government-owned networks. The infrastructure in place provides enhanced capability for disjointed tactical operations and paves the way for future innovative applications.

Network Design EngineerPerforming firmware upgrades and maintaining configuration of hardware across a wide variety of component models and vendors. • Cisco Catalyst, Nexus and Embedded Switch Modules; Branch, ISR and ASR Routers; ASA Firewalls. • Cisco UCS and Dell compute platforms. • NetApp dual-controller Fabric-Attached Storage (FAS) filers. • Aruba Instant Access Points (IAP) and Cloud Services controllers. • Documentation, test, and verification of network functionality following update of device level configuration or firmware. • Templating of device configurations in accordance with security technical implementation guides (STIGs) and best-practice hardening.Deployment and configuration of Linux and Windows based VMs within VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5 and 6.0 (Enterprise Plus) based virtual environments • Utilization of vCenter to manage a clustered environment with features such as HA, DRS, and Fault Tolerance. • Standup of Windows 2012 Certificate Authorities to support PKI dependent environments. • Creating baseline OVA’s to minimize required user configuration • Validating builds and automation tools from the software group for delivery.Responsible for the verification, validation, and test of CSfC compliant network architectures following the VPN 3.1 Capability Package and Mobility Access Capability Package (MACP). • Configuration of wireless networks, and IPSec VPN leveraging Suite B encryption algorithms. • Generation of procedures and configuration necessary to implement the customer design. • Responsible for facilitating interaction with customer with regards to configuration of network devices and applications.Providing support for a live, tactical network as well as its service-provider backbone. • Working in a large server rack laboratory to test systems before they are fielded. • Travel in support of current tasking to customer.

Full time job during the Summers of 2010, 2011, and 2012. Here we removed old coal, tar, pitch, and gravel roofs and implemented insulated rubber or Sika-Sarnafil systems. In some instances, I worked with shingles and slate, although this was less common. Other responsibilities included leak repair and the cleaning of gutters. At this job, I was also able to use my intermediate language skills in Spanish to allow for a more unified workplace. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the workplace was also a focal point of this job.
