As a consultant for Impact Blue Foundation, I have brought my knowledge and skills in materials science, data analysis and report writing into my biggest passion: environmental conservation and climate actions.I have dedicated my time with IBF to draft project applications for different plastic ban law petitions among the Dutch Caribbean islands, always bringing my materials knowledge and point of view.

I am full time living aboard my 39ft ketch rigged sailboat Songster.Boat Engineer: troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in the boat (Main engine, generator, high pressure pump, electrical connections...); Managing schedule for preventive maintenance (Oil & filter changes, impellers, pumps...); Safety checks.First Mate: Day & Night shifts in the helm during crossings, assisting the captain with the navigation, sails trimming, data logging, radio communication.While we sail around the world, we are also open to testing new technologies and to support science.

As an ambassador of eXXpedition I bring awareness about the impact of plastic (and micro-plastic) pollution in the ocean to our lives and to our health. I speak to my community about the importance of ocean preservation, how we can avoid plastic to enter in the ocean and why we should be doing it.

Curacao

Responsible for In-Process Control Trending, Process Improvement and point of contact for R&D at Smith & Nephew Curacao.In combination with my daily job, I have been engaged with the following social activities:-since 2017 I am member of the sustainability team of the company. Together with my team, we have an active participation on the Curacao Business Council for Sustainable Development (BMP) and we are responsible for introducing sustainable ideas and innovations to the site. I am very happy and proud of having the opportunity to defend a cause that I truly support and believe. As a result of our teamwok, we achived the level 1 of the Curacao Minimum Sustainable Standards (MSS) certfication in 2018.-From January 2020, I am a board member of the Global Smith&Nephew Young Professionals (SNYP) Network. We have more than 15 SNYP chapters around the world and we give them support to grow this network and promote the professional development of future leaders.From Marche 2017 to December 2019 I was the Curaçao SNYP chair, reporting to the global board.

Netherlands Antilles

As part of Quality Control team I have several tasks and responsibilities, such as:-Performing analytical & microbiological testing for releasing of product, purified water system, components and reagents.-Trending the data of testing results. I am also responsible for writing quarterly and annual reports of the monitoring of the purified water system.-Performing all activities in compliance with Good Manufacture Practice, Quality and HSE global standards. I coordinated the introduction of the 5S practice in the QC Laboratory, as well as the dissemination of this practice within my colleagues.-Operating, calibrating, and maintaining scientific instruments.-Periodic review of current SOP's and elaboration of new SOP's.___________Together with the Validation team, I perform the execution of cleaning validation activities, as well as the review of the protocols, results and discrepancies.___________I also perform collaborations with the Quality Assurance team, in which I am responsible for:-Document coordination of the front office during quality audits.-Write laboratory investigations, deviations and CAPA's associated to the Quality Control Department.____________

The Hague Area, Netherlands

Support the preparation of submissions for Regulatory Agencies in accordance with current legislation and requirements. Support the preparation of marketing authorisation applications (MAA and CTD) for National, European and International registrations.Responsible for preparing and processing requests for regulatory documentation. Co-ordinate Finished Product and Reference Standard Requests for New Submissions, Renewals and variations.

Research internship in the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine - Nancy. Project: Production of aerogels by using supercritical carbon dioxide. Responsibilities: Preparation and study of aerogels. Organogels drying process by using supercritical carbon dioxide (a key point to obtain these materials). Characterization of aerogels.

Caxias Do Sul Area, Brazil

Research Internship at Ceramic Materials Laboratory (LMCer-UCS). Project: Nanomaterial applied to Filter Elements. Responsibilities: Combined dialysis of alpha alumina powder for surface purification; Adsorptions of surfactants in alpha alumina powder to prepare aqueous suspensions; Characterizations of raw materials and suspensions by DSC, TGA, FTIR and Rheometry.
