Responsible for exploring and establishing new methodology to be employed in drug discovery. Focused specifically on understanding the perception of pain through identification of closely related behavioural markers. Pharma-representative in the IMI EuroPain consortium, working in close relation with an international team of leading researchers and clinicians from both academia and industry performing multidisciplinary translational research. Providing technical leadership, expertise and guidance.• Design and development of novel methodology. In particular exploration and testing of new concepts of animal modelling as well as refining established methodology.• Proactively identify and solve problems associated with experiments and model systems. • Contribute to continuous improvement process by identifying where advancement can be made.

The EUROPAIN project aims to increase the understanding of chronic pain and improving its treatments. It is a joint force between academic pain consortia and pharmaceutical companies working on pain where scientists will search for changes in the nervous system that contribute to pain, in order to fill the gaps in the current knowledge of chronic pain. The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) is working to improve health by speeding up the development of, and patient access to innovative medicines, particularly in areas where there is an unmet medical or social need. This is done by facilitating collaboration between the key players involved in healthcare research, including universities, the pharmaceutical and other industries, small and medium-sized enterprises, patient organisations, and medicines regulators.
