I assist the Strategic Communications Section with strategic communication and publicoutreach specifically on issues related to gender including the Women, Peace and Securitymandate and gender parity.My main project has been an advocacy campaign to promote gender equality in security sector reform with the creation of a Flickr photogallery, production webstories and videos on inspiring women at all levels of security and defence institutions, and a video on Member States' best practices.

Specialisation: I Committee and Security CouncilMy responsibilities were to attend meetings, conferences, and committees and write daily reports in Italian in order to summarize the contents concisely and effectively for my supervisors and the Ministry. In the span of 3 months, I covered 16 different events on a variety of disarmament and non-proliferation topics. I wrote over 25 reports, developing my drafting and writing skills and learning how to adapt the language to a high-level political and diplomatic audience. I supported the research efforts of the defence team by conducting literature reviews and source collection, and by reporting on conferences. Specialisation in national, European, and international defence: EU strategic autonomy | arms | cyber security | space | EU digital sovereignty

I represented Germany within the WHO at the first virtual MUN conference, focusing on the issue of Covid-19 pandemic responses, and I was awarded an Honourable Mention. Before the conference, I received training on public speaking, negotiation and the UN.

As a member of the delegation of LeidenMUN, I represented Yemen within the League of Arab States at the largest collegiate MUN conference in the world, organized by Harvard University. Prior to the conference, I took part in a 13-week preparation track, where experienced delegates trained me in public speaking, lobbying, research and resolution-writing skills.

Within the Impact Measurement and Knowledge team, I prepared research communication material, such as infographics and news articles. I was responsible for managing the website and organizing learning events. I supported the design and implementation of qualitative research.
